Acting Up! Theatre Academy

Acting Up! is an after school program for children ages 7-14.

Acting Up! is unlike any other drama program in the valley. While they focus on the fun and experience of performance, Acting Up! will focus on the technique and skills it takes to become a talented and sought after performer.

Acting Up! does more then teach performance, our program will improve a child?s confidence and self esteem, as well as greatly improve their speaking and communication skills. We spark creativity in both thinking and problem solving, developing both teamwork and leadership.

Study after study has been published showing that children involved in such programs do better in school, are more likely to go to college and far less likely to be involved in drugs, gangs and underage drinking. It has been shown that a child who finds a skill that they pursue passionately before the age of 12 is 3x as likely to go on to achieve their professional goals as an adult.

Acting Up! seeks to introduce and stimulate a passion for performing arts in the children of our community. We seek to create in them lifelong skills and expand their minds to explore new worlds and possibilities, improve social skills and instill a love of learning. Parents today are looking for more than just child care in after school programs. Theatre is a fun and exciting way to fulfill both the needs of parents and children.

The Acting Up! program is simple. We use  proven lessons and techniques for the theatre that have been used for many years  and incorporate new and exciting teaching methods and theatre games. Our curriculum is multilayered to consistently teach the basics while introducing new skills as others are mastered. Every child will be given equal performance opportunity regardless of skill level.

Acting Up! classes are organized into 8 week programs, each ending in a performance for friends and family. At the conclusion of each program we will offer opportunities to audition into higher skill level classes.

Acting Up! offers intensive summer camps, specializing in musical theatre that are divided into 2 and 3 week programs.
